What teams ask before booking.

Which versions can you upgrade from?

Any of them. Platforms reach us from 5.x, from early 6.x, self-hosted, PaaS and cloud. The further back the install, the more the fixed price is worth, because the upgrade debt is what the Survey measures and prices.

What does the Upgrade Survey include?

A senior engineer reviews versions, customisations, integrations, content model and hosting against the 6.4 upgrade path, and produces a written Upgrade Plan and a fixed, bankable quote for the work. The plan and quote are yours to keep and to take anywhere.

Why upgrade now?

Per Magnolia’s published lifecycle, active support for 6.2 and 6.3 ends in September 2026, and limited support (security fixes only) ends in September 2027. Surveys are scheduled in the order they are booked, and upgrade capacity goes to platforms with a completed Plan first.

Can you move us to DX Cloud at the same time?

Yes. If you want out of self-managed hosting or PaaS, the move to Magnolia DX Cloud is assessed in the Survey and priced as its own clearly separated line in the quote. You can take the upgrade alone, or the upgrade and the move together.

Can we get the Survey through Magnolia directly?

Yes. The Upgrade Survey is also available through your Magnolia account team, alongside booking it with us directly.

Does the business go offline?

No. The new version is stood up and rehearsed in parallel, and the change is reversible until it is load-bearing. There is no big-bang cutover weekend.

September is filling up.

Surveys run in the order they are booked, and upgrade capacity goes first to platforms with a completed plan.
