The problem

The Windeo Group is one of Europe’s leading providers of renewable energy solutions, be that wind turbines or solar panels.

The Group wanted to provide potential customers with a “Wind Calculator” that would allow them to instantly identify the best solution for them, irrespective of their location.

The solution

TBSCG developed an iPhone application that identifies the most suitable wind turbine based on a number of different criteria, such as:

• The iPhone’s GPS coordinates;
• Average wind speed at that particular location;
• Estimated annual consumption.

This application can be downloaded free-of-charge from the AppStore.

Description

This iPhone application uses the following technology:

• Geolocation using Google maps;
• A database of average European wind speeds;
• A database containing specifications for the various different wind turbines marketed by Windeo.

In answer to the brief, our design team came up with an elegant and user-friendly eco-inspired design for this application – a design that reinforces Windeo’s position on the renewable energy market.
