Based in Wroclaw, the Development Centre could be considered to be TBSCG’s “nerve centre”. The techie guys (and girls!) code all day long to meet our clients’ needs. Let’s have a chat with team manager Łukasz Rajchel to find out more.
What kind of projects does the Development Centre deal with?
We primarily deliver bespoke software solutions and implement 3rd party systems, such as TeamSite, LiveSite and SiteCore. We also develop mobile applications (smartphones and tablets).
This is also whee all of TBSCG’s research and development work is done.
Do you work closely with TBSCG’s other departments?
Yes, of course! TBSCG’s departments aren’t separate worlds. We all work together and share our ideas. That’s the best way of enriching our knowledge and providing our clients with the best possible solution.
In the same vein, we assist the Support team by making our expertise available to clients who have signed up for TBSCG’s Support and Maintenance Scheme.
Basically, we try to help our Support Team colleagues and the field consultants as much as we possibly can.
Say I’d like to join your team. What skills would I need to have?
Everyone who works in the development department is a highly skilled technician. We put a lot of emphasis on our team members’ ability to learn quickly, something that has proved to be extremely valuable when clients have asked us to get up-to-speed with new types of technology.
A typical member of the development team is someone highly proactive who shows a great deal of initiative and who is capable of working both independently and as part of the team.
We are extremely proud of our team, and our developers regularly get lots of positive feedback from TBSCG’s clients.
How many people belong to your team?
We have a total of 10 developers, all based in Wroclaw. Most of them are male, but we also have a few females on the team.
Is there one particular project you are especially proud of?
We have successfully completed a number of integration projects that had never been tackled before, and have devised several highly complex solutions that involved designing bespoke operating systems for custom-designed electronic devices.
It’s a bit tricky to single out one specific project. We have worked in a wide variety of technologies on a huge range of challenging projects, including a real time contest in which 340 people simultaneously competed against each other in 17 different locations, using the software and infrastructure we provided.
We were also involved in a unique project that consisted of integrating an on-demand printing solution with a large scale digital asset management system, resulting in a 10-fold reduction in printing times for the client!
What about current projects? What do the next few months have in store?
We are currently working on a number of integrated multi-channel print & web content management solutions and on some Sitecore projects.
We’ve recently hired a few new developers and we’re looking to expand our team in the very near future.
